Hey y'all,

Please check out my free Udemy Lua Course. It'll really help me out if you rate and review it.

I'm using an online IDE so you can start learning lua right from your browser or smart phone. Just click the repl.it like, fork it and play with the code.

Hope someone likes this.
Thanks

I think it's great to see a beginners course for Lua. But... the course says it's $139 for a 1 hour beginner course? I suppose I appreciate the $19.99 discount price, but the entire PIL book can be purchased for $25? Am I missing something?

I just switched the course to paid about a week ago. I've changed the list price to 25 USD, but Udemy usually offers discounted prices so the price range is going to be 15-20 USD either way.

Actually you can learn the whole thing and more for free from Lua's documentation, which I found to be very useful: Lua 5.4 Reference Manual - contents

Someone can enroll in the course if they like my teaching style and if it helps them in learning.

Yeah, the course is 1 hour long and it's beginner level. I'll be updating the course soon to add stuff about Roblox soon, to add more value.

I just made this post, and forgot about it. I suppose I should remove the it since it's no longer free, but I can't find the delete option.

If you'd like to enroll in the course for free or at a discounted price of 10 USD anytime at all, just let me know and I'll share a link with you with a coupon code.

Okay that's great. I'll sign my son up and see what he thinks.

Thanks a lot for you interest. There's a link to the course with a free coupon applied. I hope your son likes the course. The link can be used for 10 enrollments so free to share. I'd love to hear your feedback in a rating and review.

Hi,

So my son came away from the first video quite frustrated. I sat down and listened and was lost in 15 seconds. Here is my immediate impression:

"This repl is called hello world".

Dumped right into something that users don't understand. What is a Repl? Where is he and how is he editing his files? How do I see what he is seeing? No explanation where to go to get the editor. Found link. Editor doesn't look like yours. Can't edit file? Do I have to sign up? What the hell is he talking about? I'm so lost.

"You make a comment by using two dashes"

What is a comment? I don't know anything about programming!

My suggestions:

You need to go back and start at the basics.
1) Introduce your environment and the method you will be using for teaching
2) Tell people what you are doing in words.
3) You need to break down the basic concepts of programming. What is a comment? What does print mean? What is Input and what is output?

Hope that helps!
