Moonjit is not active; The LuaJIT Project is still active; I'm on the mailing list and if you look you can see Mike Pall is making patches recently. It's just that there is not a major feature update since 2017.

. finds everything. So it found something and repeats once. Lua does not use regular expressions because it wants to maintain lightweight portability.

So, I am not very good, but I found that Gitbash let me run luajit pretty well. As I had to make something to process a horrendously large flat file, the table structures in lua + luajit compiler made it a breeze to do a ton of fast in-memory processing. I hope this helps or you have made...
